Certification details change. Always confirm final pricing, availability, and credential terms on the official provider page linked in the sources below before you pay for anything.

The exam itself is the one cost you can't avoid — so don't lose it to a missed reschedule window or a failed proctoring check. Here is how this vendor's exams actually work, every policy sourced and dated. Policies change; confirm the current terms before you schedule.

How you take it

Linux Foundation and CNCF exams (LFCS, CKA) are online-proctored, performance-based exams taken on the PSI Bridge platform via the PSI Secure Browser — you solve real tasks at a Linux command line (CKA is roughly 15-20 tasks in 2 hours), monitored live by a proctor over audio, video, and screen-sharing.

Scheduling & rescheduling

Reschedule or cancel up to 24 hours before the start; no changes are allowed within 24 hours, and there's no stated fee. Scheduling needs a 24-hour lead time (the earliest slot is the next day). A no-show forfeits the fee and your retake eligibility.

Refunds & cancellation

A refund is available only if you purchased less than 3 business days ago AND have not scheduled or taken an exam. Purchases through Authorized Training Partners are handled by the partner.

Retakes

One retake is included with the CKA and LFCS purchase (granted only after a No Pass result), with no enforced waiting period; you must complete the retake within 12 months of the original purchase date.

Online proctoring: what to have ready

A valid, non-expired, original physical government photo ID whose name exactly matches your exam checklist; a single active monitor only (dual monitors are not supported); a movable webcam plus microphone; a walled, private, quiet, well-lit room with no one else present and a clear desk and walls; reliable (preferably wired) internet with at least 50% RAM free and no VMs; and acceptance of the Global Certification and Confidentiality Agreement.

Getting your results

Your score report is emailed within 24 hours of completing the exam (and posted to your portal) — not immediate.

Testing accommodations

Accommodations are available on request through the Candidate Handbook's process; confirm the specific request lead time before scheduling.
