Certification details change. Always confirm final pricing, availability, and credential terms on the official provider page linked in the sources below before you pay for anything.

The exam itself is the one cost you can't avoid — so don't lose it to a missed reschedule window or a failed proctoring check. Here is how this vendor's exams actually work, every policy sourced and dated. Policies change; confirm the current terms before you schedule.

How you take it

Microsoft exams are delivered by Pearson VUE, online-proctored (OnVUE) or at a test center, with the proctor monitoring by webcam and microphone.

Scheduling & rescheduling

Reschedule or cancel at least 24 hours before the exam or you forfeit the fee/voucher; a no-show may incur a fee. You can reschedule only twice after the initial booking, and must schedule within 90 days.

Refunds & cancellation

The 24-hour rule governs forfeiture; cancel at least 24 hours before through your Microsoft Learn profile.

Retakes

You can retake 24 hours after a first failed attempt; later retakes carry longer waits, and you pay for each attempt.

Online proctoring: what to have ready

A government ID whose name exactly matches your profile (legal-name-change or ID-renewal forms are not accepted online), a walled room with the door closed and no one else present, a phone-camera scan of the room/desk/ID reviewed by a greeter, a clear work area with no notes or food (a clear spill-proof drink is OK), and a system test with admin permissions. Facial-comparison technology is used; opting out means testing at a center.

Getting your results

Most exams return a score within minutes (lab exams about 30 minutes); results appear in your Learn profile within 24 hours. Scored 1-1000, pass is 700.

Testing accommodations

Request accommodations (extra time, special equipment, etc.) before you schedule.
