The exam itself is the one cost you can't avoid — so don't lose it to a missed reschedule window or a failed proctoring check. Here is how this vendor's exams actually work, every policy sourced and dated. Policies change; confirm the current terms before you schedule.

How you take it
Red Hat exams (RHCSA / EX200) are hands-on, performance-based practical exams run on Red Hat's own system — either as a remote exam on your own X86_64, Fedora-compatible/cloud system observed by a remote proctor, or at an individual testing station on a preconfigured Red Hat laptop, both at the same price.
Scheduling & rescheduling
Reschedule an individual exam up to 24 hours before the session; within 24 hours you forfeit the exam authorization. You can switch between remote and test-center if done at least 24 hours in advance. No fee.
Refunds & cancellation
All individual exam purchases are final and non-refundable. (Open-enrollment/onsite classroom exams have separate 14-day cancellation terms.)
Retakes
A free retake is standard with an individual exam — if you don't pass the first attempt you're eligible for a free retake, with no separate exam+retake product needed. You can't take the same exam more than once in a day, and exam authorization is valid 1 year from purchase with no extensions.
Online proctoring: what to have ready
A room scan you must pass (fail it and you can't test); a quiet, private workspace with a clear desk; no smart devices, writing instruments, printed materials, or whiteboards; a webcam positioned per the proctor; extra monitors unplugged; stable connectivity; and an uninterrupted power supply strongly recommended.
Getting your results
Your results are emailed within 3 U.S. business days — not immediate.
Testing accommodations
Special-accommodation requests must be made at least two weeks in advance via Red Hat's accommodations form.
